Why we are here

The Need

TheFiveEleven places highly trained specialists on-site to support staff with identifying student needs and implementing appropriate support strategies.

We guide schools in developing school-wide systems of support that are cost effective and prevention focused.  These systems facilitate inclusive practices that are proven to be beneficial for all learners.  Our goal is to create a culture where students can learn together with their classmates and teachers feel well supported.

Intervention

Our interdisciplinary approach enhances the school's continuum of supports for student learning by bringing multiple perspectives to the table.  We support universal screening efforts to proactively identify and respond to needs as early as possible.  Our specialists work with teachers to design and provide direct intervention, which can be delivered whole class, in small groups or one-on-one.  Peer-mediated interventions are encouraged to promote supportive relationships that are not adult dependent.

Collaboration

Because we are on-site, our specialists are available to work collaboratively with staff as soon as a need arises.  We consult one-on-one with teachers, attend grade level team meetings, participate on problem-solving teams, meet with parents, support differentiation and lesson planning, design accommodations, and provide staff development.  Teachers are invited to access to our resource library for materials and activities that can enhance social / emotional learning in the classroom.

Shared Resource

We have designed our programming to be shared among several schools within a geographical region to promote sustainability and cost effectiveness.  This will also enhance networking and collaboration between schools, offering even more support among teachers.  Opportunities for shared professional development creates collegiality among professionals in schools that are functioning outside of a "school district" setting.

“I really loved seeing the fourth graders transform as the different executive functioning strategies were implemented. Great ideas, easily implemented!”

Preschool Director

"We are honored to be a part of TheFiveEleven’s early childhood pilot program.  Their expertise and knowledge will help us better access the needs of our students and adjust our curriculum and the classroom environment to fit individual needs”

4th Grade Teacher

“The resources provided are so necessary as students continue to fall through the cracks here due to the fact that teachers don't have the training and expertise...  (Students) are not receiving the services that will help them thrive until years later when it is much more difficult to catch up."

We never thought we could be so happy, relieved, comforted and confident about our decision to send Finn to St. Joseph.  Being the first family to send a child, with Down Syndrome to our Catholic school has been a positive experience so far.  We didn’t know this could be a reality until we received the support of TheFiveEleven and teachers.  We truly thought the door was closed to the possibility of him experiencing the same joy and faith community his four other siblings have shared before him.   With a heavy heart we had plans to send him elsewhere to get the education, therapy and support he needed to be successful.   With the vision and hard work of TheFiveEleven our prayer to have Finn join his brother and friends is now a reality.  We are confident Finn will continue to learn, thrive, grow in his education and faith along side his peers. TheFiveEleven and St. Joseph has given our child this opportunity and for that we are so grateful.

Our church is also his home and the doors should be open to children of all abilities because the Lord never rejected a child.

Our faith tells us Finn is in the right place at the right time. The proof is in the excitement, joy and smiles he shares with us and his friends everyday.

Board of Directors

“Kids are going to remember their 3rd or 5th grade teacher, not us.  Our job is to help the teachers be impactful, and the principals to support them."

Julie Rossi

 Principal SJE Catholic School

"I applaud TheFiveEleven for their efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion within Catholic education, creating spaces where every child feels valued and supported."

Etta Waters

Teacher

“Schools need to understand that no matter how much you adjust curriculum, if it's not accessible to the kids because of their learning behaviors then it won't make a difference.  It's like putting a buffet in front of a 3-month-old.  They have an abundance of food, but they physically can't eat it.”
